National Medical Research Association (NMRA)
Enabling young researchers to develop into independent scientists
About Us
The National Medical Research Association (NMRA) is a non-profit association founded in 2022 with the aim of giving students and young academics a foundation in medical research. We aspire to break down barriers in research entry and facilitation by championing young scientists in research environments and creating opportunities for development. We provide our members with the skills, network, and confidence to pursue medical research with educational events, our mentorship scheme, and a host of opportunities to conduct independent research under NMRA support.
Our vision is to support all who wish to pursue research in medicine, and give them the tools needed for success in academia. We will have a team and a series of dedicated events designed to achieve this, providing students with networking, educational, and research collaboration opportunities to enrich their experience of research in and beyond their exposure in clinical settings.
In this way, we wish to bridge gaps between like-minded individuals and thus establish a national community to whom we can cater a wide range of academic, research-based, and career events. We also aim to empower students as they take ownership of a research project of their creation
